Embryolisse Lait-Creme Review: The ‘holy grail’ of skincare

There’s something about the French approach to beauty that really impresses me.

While K-beauty may be all the rage on TikTok with its 12-step routines, a simplified ‘less is more’ approach to skincare will always win me over.

At the heart of the French beauty approach is focusing on using a few gentle-but-effective hero products that hydrate and support your skin barrier.

I learned this when I traveled to Paris last year where I got to experience some of the best skincare France has to offer.

I splurged on a facial and skin diagnosis at famous French beauty house Biologique Recherche and stocked up on Nuxe body oil and Caudalie Vinoperfect serum at the TikTok-viral discount chemist Citypharma.

But one popular French product I have yet to try is the Embryolisse Lait-Creme.

To call it simply a moisturizer would be as reductive as it’s so much more than that, and after trialling it for the last three weeks I can say it’s blown me away.

As well as being the perfect everyday moisturizer it also works as a makeup primer and intensive overnight mask, making it multiple products in one.

Read on for my review of the product, plus what you need to know about another Embryolisse new product that’s making waves with beauty lovers.

WHAT IS THE LAIT-CREME EMBRYOLISSE?

Embryolisse is most famous for its Lait-Creme, an iconic white and blue tube that you’ve probably spotted in many a beauty guru’s bag — it’s so popular one tube sells every 20 seconds.

Last year the brand unveiled a new line-up of the sought-after product that includes the Lait-Creme Concentre and Lait-Creme Multi-Protection which I tried.

In short, it’s the same Lait-Creme formulation that shoppers love with the added benefit of organic UV filters to shield against blue light and pollution.

As someone who spends the majority of their working day in from of a computer, the Lait-Creme Multi-Protection was the natural choice for me.

The Lait-Creme Concentre is probably the most similar to the original formula and claims to have six uses as a moisturizer, cleanser, mask, soothing treatment, calming treatment and as a primer.

Both products contain the signature combination of shea butter, aloe vera and soy proteins to wake up tired skin and leave it deeply nourished.

Still not convinced? Embryolisse Lait-Creme has racked up an impressive 4.8 star rating from almost 38,000 Google reviews.

Five star reviews say it is a “holy grail product” that has “completely transformed” their skin, praising it for giving them a “flawless foundation” for their makeup base.

“I’ve been hooked on this stuff for a good five years now. Like, it’s become my go-to, no questions asked,” one shopper wrote.

EMBRYOLISSE LAIT-CREME MULTI PROTECTION: MY VERDICT

When I opened my tube of Lait-Creme Multi-Protection my first thought was, this is going to be way too thick for my skin. I have combination skin and am prone to hormonal breakouts at the moment of being pregnant, so I was nervous that shea butter would prove pore-clogging.

But after using it for three weeks I couldn’t have been more wrong — this moisturizer has been a serious game changer for my skin.

It’s ultra-calming, didn’t make me break out and despite having some heavy-duty hydrating ingredients it still feels ultra light.

While trialling this moisturizer I traveled to far north Queensland during the wet, humid season and was still able to wear the moisturizer without it making my face greasy.

It also makes a beautiful priming base for your makeup and gives you a dewy, not shiny face.

At $41 it’s great value for money and performs just as well as moisturizers double and triple the price. I’ll definitely be repurchasing it again when I run out.

EMBRYOLISSE ROSE GLOW- RADIANT COMPLEXION CREAM

Another Embryolisse product that’s been gaining traction among beauty lovers is their

Rose Glow – Radiant Complexion Cream.

It’s gone viral on TikTok with shoppers raving its finish. Using silk tree extract for a dose of antioxidant plus vegetal hyaluronic acid, Rose Glow – Radiant Complexion Cream works to give you plump and nourished skin.

Natural rose and pearl pigments give your skin a subtle flush and glow.

Five star reviews say it left skin “silky smooth” and “rosier and softer.”.

“It works perfectly as a moisturizer and even better as a primer!” one happy shopper wrote.

“I applied my makeup and it glided on and stayed on all day! True to the style of Embryolisse, it left me with a subtle pearlescent glow!”
