Knole Academy in Sevenoaks changes uniform rules to allow fake eyelashes for ‘mental health considerations’

A school has changed its uniform rules to allow students to wear fake eyelashes due to “mental health considerations”.

Parents were sent a letter about the change after attendance was affected by youngsters taking time off due to lash appointments and their mental well-being.

Madeline Edwards, 24, was left with a swollen and painful eye after going to get her eyelashes done before a gig.

Madeline, who has been getting eyelash extensions for around six years, said: “Many salons required a 24-hour patch test and wouldn’t do my eyelashes, even if I signed a disclaimer.

A salon customer was left shocked after an Orchard Road salon cut off her lashes while correcting a botched eyelash extension procedure.

The customer, F, told Mothership that she visited the salon for the first time on Sep. 16.
