Uptown Girl to close and beauty salon to open in Cowdenbeath

Jean Young, who has run Uptown Girl for eight years, is closing the shop for the last time this upcoming Saturday, March 23.

The shop will be turning into a beauty salon, and new owners Yinyin Hong (known as Cherry) and Yin Fon Lau can’t wait to get started.

Yinyin said: “I feel so excited, because it’s just like my dream to open a shop for myself, and you know finally, I can just get that dream come true.”

Selena Gomez’s $3 billion beauty move

Selena Gomez is reportedly in the process of exploring a sale of her US$2 billion ($3 billion) cosmetics company.

The actor and singer, whose credits include Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place, Spring Breakers and Neighbors 2: Sorority Risinghas hired advisers to solicit offers for her company, Rare Beauty, according to The New York Post.

The company has brought on bankers to weigh potential offers for the company, although the 31-year-old Gomez is likely to remain involved with the business even after a sale, it was reported.
